Following are the steps involved in starting an architectural company:
- Prepare a detailed business plan. This plan will be then submitted to the DED.
- Select a trade name that reflects your architectural services. Ensure that the trade name meets the naming standards set by Dubai's governance.
- Obtain approvals from the regulatory authorities, depending on the jurisdiction where you are applying for your company setup.
- Register the company. You may be required to draft the MoA and get it notarized.
- After registering the company and obtaining the required license, you must lease an office space.
- Pay the required fees.
- Once you’ve set up the company, open a corporate bank account.
Requirements for expatriate applicants:
- Expatriate applicants must be registered with the Society of Engineers in the UAE.
- The applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the specified field.
- The candidate must hold a BSc degree in architecture from a recognized university.
Requirements for UAE nationals:
- Minimum 3 years experience in the specified field.
- The candidate must hold a BSc degree in architecture from a recognized university.
- Must be registered with the Society of Engineers in the UAE.
The following documents are required in setting up an architectural company in Dubai.
- Detailed business plan
- License application
- Passport copies of the applicants
- Company incorporation certificate
- NoC (if applicable)
- Notarized MoA
- A tenancy contract or an Ejari
