Step 1: Choose a Business Activity.

The DET (Department of Economic Tourism) has a list of commercial activities that are permitted with a car wash license.

Step 2: Tradename Registration

Select a trade name for your business. It should comply with the UAE's rules and regulations. It should not contain offensive language or religious references and not resemble the names of existing businesses.

Step 3: RTA Approval

• The applicant must provide a request letter to the vehicle licensing department stating the business and vehicle activities.
• Classification of the design and equipment of the vehicles.
• The applicant can make modifications to the vehicle after obtaining approval from the department.
• Visit service providers Tasjeel or Shamil for an appointment for the RTA committee to test the vehicles.
• Once the vehicle has been approved by the RTA committee, the applicant can apply for the initial approval from the DET.
• The applicant must cross-verify with DED regarding cleaning material.
• The client needs to apply for NOC for the sale of goods or services using the vehicle registered on the RTA website.

Step 4: Submit for initial approval from the DET

• Get initial approval for your trade name.
• If applicable, you must obtain approval from the RTA.
• Notarize MoA
• Submit EJARI
• Once you have enclosed the payment, you may obtain the license.

Step 5: Documents Required

• Copy of passport/shareholder(s) passport
• Copy of shareholder(s) visa (tourist visa, residence visa, etc.)
• Emirates ID copy and NOC from sponsor (if applicable)
• Options for trading names (at least 3) for your car wash business
• Signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)
• Copy of Ejari (tenancy contract in your company name)

Step 6: Obtain Necessary Visas

You will need to arrange for the relevant visas depending on the number of staff you will be employed under the company. The number of visas you are allowed to arrange will depend on the size and investment plan of the company. 

As per the DET, the cost of obtaining a mobile car wash license is approximately AED 10,173.

The entire price will include obtaining a license, becoming a member of the Chamber of Commerce, paying any related municipal costs, getting your trade name authorized and recognized by the appropriate authorities, and paying any notary or court expenses.
